Spain’s diverse landscape and climate make it possible to skiing in the mountains and swimming in the ocean all within the same day. Although Spain is mainly known for its sunshine and beaches, it also has some excellent skiing areas. The winter season starts in November.
Main resorts:
The Sierra Nevada is Spain's most southernmost ski resort. Well connected with Granada, it’s just 31 kms from the city centre.
Soldeu El Tarter is located in the Andorra region between France and Spain.
Candanchu ski resort is on the French-Spanish border in the center of the Pyrenees.
Cerler has 38 slopes and approximately 45km of pistes. It’s located right in the heart of the Benasque Valley in Huesa, in the Pyrenees.
The Formigal resort is situated right in the centre of the Pyrenean Aragonese, to the north of the province of Huesca. It’s in the valley of Tena.
The Astun resort is located in the Aragon Valley, in the Jacetania area of northern Spain.
Baqueira-Beret is located in the Pyrennees. Most runs are above treeline.
Javalambre ski resort is in the Sierra Javalambre region of Spain.
La Molina, open since 1911, is Spains' first ski resort. It’s the perfect family resort and has slopes to suit every level. There are over 200 instructors here.
Panticosa Los Lagos is a small village resort in the Tena Valley right in the centre of the Aragon Pyrenees.
The mountain resort of Valdezcaray is located at the North-Eastern end of the Iberian mountain range. It’s in the Sierra de la Demanda, Rioja.
